The Knew delivers their songs in a whirlwind of rock fury. The use of slide guitar and simple, steady, drum beats makes the sound an ear-pleasing blend of punk and roots. Regardless of genre preferred, and if foot tapping is something you enjoy, please feel free to give it a listen.
HISTORY
The Knew is comprised of four members that look closely related and may very well be in some branch of the tree. They are a foursome that has energy on the brain and translates that through live shows and their two most recent EPs.
The Knew recorded their 2007 EP, Holladay, at Denver’s Uneven Studio operated by Hot IQs bassist Bryan Fuechtinger. The album showcases their best work to date, ranging from chain-gang blues to uptempo country-punk, and was released in July 2007. Coupled with favorable critic reviews, they used the momentum to keep moving forward, playing and writing new songs that hope to encompass their favorite aspects of the music they love.
The Knew has again teamed up with Bryan Feuchtinger to put together a new EP full of tasty rock basics as well as testing out some new approaches to blues and roots music. The EP should be finished up in July and is to be consummated with a fashionably tasteless blowout with some other choice bands/friends on the bill. In addition to plans to release their newest EP in July, The Knew are also working on booking West Coast and Midwest tours, hoping for an exciting and ambitious rest of 2008.
The Knew are:
Jacob Hansen- Guitar/vocals
Tyler Breuer- Guitar
Tim Rynders- Bass
Patrick Bowden- Drums
