(Truth Be Told)
What do you get when you take five veteran musicians with wide and varied tastes in rock ‘n roll and let them loose to collaborate on some original tunes, fueled by apathy and alcohol? You get PRIMASONIC.
These five may have been complete strangers to each other but late 2006 brought them together to make some glorious noise. Call it fate…or call it damnation. Whatever the case might be, though they never aimed to make even the slightest dent on the Denver scene it does seem like people are noticing and, oddly enough, LOVING their music.
Drawing upon the success of a limited-release demo disc (Rock the Stockyards) this past Spring, the band saw it fit to go in and record a full-length album in October which is scheduled for international release via Antidote Records. However, songs from this upcoming release are already being added to radio and podcast playlists worldwide, with fan reaction being equally positive.
While PRIMASONIC’s main influences are classic punk rock bands of the 70’s, the end result of their collaboration is surprisingly “poppy”...with a number of hooks which you will find nearly impossible to forget even after just one listen.
Their new full-length debut disc contains a little bit of something for everyone, drawing comparisons to bands like The Plimsouls, Undertones, The Damned, Stooges, U.S. Bombs, New Bomb Turks…and even The Who. But don’t take anyone’s word for it. Take a listen and then judge for yourself.
