Artist MySpace“Littleton, CO’s iluminado give new meaning to the idea of musical experimentation, creating a sound that is not quite like anything else on the market today. Taking elements of progressive-rock, indie-rock with a southwestern swagger to it, and technical post-rock guitar work, the fusing together of it all into a cohesive whole is what makes this band a force that stands out, one that must be seen to be truly believed.
The group utilizes a triple-guitar attack force, all of whom interchangeably play lead and rhythm parts, seamlessly locking together with one-another while simultaneously spiraling off in their own directions. Keyboards in several different styles give the music a kind of clever madness in just the right places, while the music is driven by interwoven bass lines that stand alone in their own right and a drummer who’s simply out of this world. Top it all off with incredible wailing vocals, and you have the formula for iluminado. The beautiful love-child of the musical styles of The Mars Volta, Murder By Death, Circa Survive, and Explosions In The Sky fused into a tangible whole, this band is truly what the term “amazing” is all about.”
